Abstract
The present study addresses shape adjustment of cable-mesh parabolic antennas in which the boundaries are supported by rigid structures and the nodal points of the cable network are tied by support cable network. In the conventional design of the cable-mesh antenna, it has been adopted that the cable stiffness of the support cable network is rather high compared with that of the antenna surface. This design realizes the localization of effect of the change of the cable length on the deformation of the antenna surface. This feature enables us to adjust the nodal position of the surface only by changing the adjacent cables. The present study proposes a shape adjustment method that is available for the cable-mesh antennas where the deformation is not localized.
