Abstract

In recent years, the demand for nano-satellite systems has been increasing rapidly in space development. Compared with conventional large satellites, nano-satellite systems have a relatively short development period of only one or two years, which is advantageous for the immediate introduction of new technologies. On the other hand, the development method has not been established yet, and when it is done by a small group, it is necessary to cross each person’s field of expertise, and the reliability of the system has deteriorated. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of correlation analysis between the development process of nano-satellites and system reliability by using interviews with past nano-satellite development cases and quantitative evaluation of system reliability. The correlation analysis is conducted on the development case of OrigamiSat-1, and a quantitative evaluation method of nano-satellite system reliability considering factors specific to hardware is proposed.
