Abstract

The structure of the present tennis ball is covered with a uniform felt cloth made of hard rubber. The inside of the ball is filled with air at approximately 1.8 atmospheres. The joints are filled with adhesive or resin. tennis ball is released by rubbing it against the racket's gut and hitting it. The rotational speed of the serve ball is up to about 5,500 rpm. The maximum rotation speed of the stroke is about 4,000 rpm. As the ball continues to hit, the surface wears off. And air leaks from the internal structure. These factors cause differences between new balls and used balls. We measure lift and drag in fluid force measurement for this difference. And analysis of the flow field around the ball by 2D-PIV measurement. Approach in theses way.
