Traditional Japanese bows are clad materials made of bamboo and wood. Each bow is composed of multi arcs with different radius of curvature and cross sectional areas along the length. In using the Japanese bows there are three stages. Japanese bows are not symmetrical, therefore, the characteristics and dynamics are complicated. In this study, the details of the simulation results of Japanese bows obtained in using a simplified model that consists of multi arc segments are presented. Each segment is treated as a nonlinear flexible beam with a large deflection. The simulation of the deflection of the individual arcs is done simultaneously using the elliptic integral. Using the model, various non-linear dynamical simulations are performed.
