Abstract
Thermoacoustic prime movers and coolers constitutes a new class of heat engines, which use acoustic waves instead of moving parts such as pistons and valves. Their simple structure, and absence of moving parts offer a new way to understand heat engines. Thermoacoustic point of view, in which heat flow and work flow are used instead of heat and work, is introduced based on the experimental results on energy flows.
