Abstract
This paper describes the safety of electrical cables in the MOX fuel processing facility in fire accidents by heat impact tests. The Eco-material electric power and control cables were applied to the thermal impact tests using high temperature chamber. In the tests, the electrical resistance was measured to evaluate safety of electric insulation of control and electric power cables. The temperature of the test was assumed to be 100℃, 150℃ and 200℃. Moreover, period of heat impact test was assumed to be 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours. The electrical resistance falls at the high temperature and the destruction of the insulation resistance of a control cable was observed in examinations of 150℃ and 200℃.
