抄録

quenching used oil quenchant is applied for power transmission system gear, and it is necessary to control the cooling process to reduce the defectslike distortion or residual stress. For predicting the cooling process, the solver being able to realize the three cooling stages (vapor stage, boiling stage, convection stage) is needed. In this work “interThermalPhaseChangeFoam” one of the solvers in OpenFOAM is applied and the calculation domain was set as a cube has two different size with heating bottom changed the temperature calculated the heat flux from a temperature incline and an effective thermal conductivity. In each case three cooling stages was realized and discussed the difference of results.
