Abstract
The damping properties of the vibration for a composite rectangular laminated plate with a viscoelastic layer are presented. The analysis is carried out using the Ritz method. The elastic moduli of the plate are treated as complex value, and the shear modulus and loss factor of the viscoelastic material depend on frequency and temperature. The natural frequencies and modal loss factors are solved by means of an iterative procedure. The effect of temperature on the natural frequencies and modal loss factors are investigated.
