Abstract
Friction characteristics and wear of the glass fiber filling PTFE[PTFE(25%GF)] against the steel(S15C) disk and the metal(Cu, Ni and Cr) -plated steel disks are investigated to use it for the brake material. Experiments are carried out for the temperature of 293K to 353K and the humidity of 70% to <7% with the condition of high friction speed. The order of the friction coefficient of the combination of PTFE(25%GF) against the disks is Ni-plated disk > S15C disk > Cr-plated disk and the order of the specific wear of the PTFE(25%GF) is S15C disk > Cr-plated disk > Ni-plated disk.
