Abstract
This paper describes a study on method of steering torque control that is based on a hypothesis of ideal reaction torque control which was derived from the driving diagram. First, "understeer state of a vehicle "can be expressed simply using the driving diagram. Next, new method of reaction torque control is derived from understeer state as the result of various testing. We realized that this diagram is useful for making the control algorithm of steering reaction torque. Test results show that the new steering reaction torque control algorithm based on this driving diagram applied for "under steer state" has improved task performance of drift out recovery with Electric Power Steering system(EPS).
