Abstract
This paper describes safety evaluation of power reed switches applied for logistic machinery. The reliability evaluation of the switch of its field failure rate level is 4.8 (Fit) or less, but the actual failure rate to danger for its safety evaluation has not been determined as of the date of this paper. Subsequently, the result of failure rate to danger is 2×(10)^<-10> (1/h) or less from the initial elevator field data observed. In view of these facts, redundancy and compatibility checking must be done within the limits of residual risk factors that the authors make a proposal.
