This paper describes an improvement effect of stability of driver-vehicle system by controlling steering characteristics. We focus on relationship between the steering gain and spin evasive action performance. Experiments to investigate the relationship were carried out using a fixed type driving simulator. The results show that to increase the steering gain is effective to improve the spin evasive action performance, but to increase the gain too much is not effective when a driver, for example, is going to adjust a direction of the vehicle to return the former lane.
