Recently, much driver support systems are developed, for example, the lane keeping systems, the adaptive cruise control systems, and so on. It is important to consider not only the performance of the system, but also the characteristics of a driver. Therefore, this study examined the characteristics of a driver while following a previous vehicle. At first, to get the data of the characteristics of a driver, we took experiment. And, we construct the driver model, which has relationship between heart rate and vehicle behavior. Finally, we examined the factor of the heart rate during follow the previous vehicle, using this model.
