Lateral wind is categorized as one of our nearest unpredictable turbulence for a moving vehicle. To minimize the danger of lateral wind, a variety of driver assistance strategies were designed. However, to maintain moving vehicle stability while receiving assistance from such devices, driver sense incompatibility and anxiety. To minimize these unpleasant perceptions, it is necessary to know the relation between sway perception characteristic and steering behavior during crosswind. In this paper, we evaluate the relation between sway perception and steering behavior using a driving simulator which is able to move horizontally to simulate lateral wind.
