Abstract
Regarding the wheelchair users' social advancement, the importance of a local bus as the public transportation for the wheelchair users has been raised in recent years. The wheelchair space has been obligated to be set up in the low-chassis bus so called "non-step bus "by the enforcement of "Transportation Accessibility Improvement Law". In a current state, however, it is not common for wheelchair users to tying their wheelchair down at the space in a bus due to the complexity of the retainer. Therefore tying down methods of wheelchair were examined using the sled impact tests under various conditions in order to improve crash safety performance and usability for wheelchair users in this report.
