Abstract
This paper examines validity of variable characteristics steering system with PID-control for the emergency avoidance performance in automobile by computer simulation. K_D -T -J Map is proposed, and effectiveness of P and D-Element is shown by using the map. As a result, it is shown that even an unskilled driver and a novice driver can do the emergency avoidance operation like a skilled driver using variable characteristics steering system with PD-control.
