The paper clarified the movements of driver's body and ride comfort in low frequency lateral acceleration, when the seat stiffness distribution varies. The four different conditions of seat stiffness distributions were designed by the mechanism using two types of rubber beltings, and driving experiments were carried out using a driving simulator cooperated with 6 subjects. The result shows that roll and lateral shakings of driver's body can be reduced effectively, when the stiffness of upper side of the seat becomes higher, hi contrast, roll shakings can't be reduced, when the stiffness of lower side of the seat becomes higher. The activities of driver's muscles also depend on the seat stiffness distributions, and amplitudes of electromyography of the muscles decrease when the seat stiffness becomes higher. That result corresponds to the magnitude of movement of driver's body.
