Abstract
In this research, we performed curving simulation of one vehicle using versatile multibody dynamics analysis software SIMPACK to comprehend wheel loads, lateral forces and contact positions of a wheel and the rail and so on at the time of curve passage which we input into a rolling contact finite element analysis between wheel and rail in an estimation method for rail defect in consideration of a combination of a short crack growth and wear. By the simulation, we calculated vertical, running and lateral forces at the bearing considerable position of the axle and contact positions of a wheel and the rail and so on when a vehicle passed a curve as input at track condition (radius, cant etc.), rail profile, specification, wheel profile, running speed and so on. In this paper, we show an analysis of the tendency about an occurrence of creep force at the time of the curve in the simulation result.
