Unpleasant odors existing in a railway vehicle are sometime pointed out by railway customers. We focused air in an air conditioning system in a vehicle, and environmental factors, temperature, humidity, and fungal index of inside ducts, were monitored for about a year in this study. As the results, the extent of unpleasant odors judged by persons was highest in June, and fungal index was detected from early June and showed maximum in August. Therefore, it is suggested that fungi has started to grow from early in June in a duct of a vehicle, and it might be related to unpleasant odor inside a vehicle.
