In this study, we develop a regional econometric model which can analyze the impact of high-speed railway development on regional economy along the line considering urbanization economies and migration. In the model, we take into account of influence of generalized cost among regions on migration behavior and relationship between population and labor and population and private consumption expenditure. And we also analyze the impact of the development of Chuo Shinkansen on Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka metropolitan areas and Yamanashi prefecture with the model. As a result, it is indicated that the development of Chuo Shinkansen increases population and GRP in the three metropolitan areas while it increases GRP and decreases population in Yamanashi prefecture.
