Train operation is managed by a train operation control system, and Programmed Route Control system (PRC), which is the core of the system, automatically controls the route of trains. Currently, PRC controls the route based on train tracking by track circuits and fixed values at each station and each train. Therefore, it cannot provide continuous position recognition or manage control time and conditions efficiently based on train performance. In this paper, we applied the concept of on-board pattern control, which is used in wireless train control systems, to route control to realize more efficient route control and to improve train operation management. As a result, we propose a method of automatic route control based on speed profiles that can be calculated onboard the train, without using fixed track circuit.
