Development of Brake Monitoring System for N700S Shinkansen Train

Abstract

In the N700S Shinkansen train, in addition to improving braking performance, the condition monitoring function has been strengthened for the purpose of improving quality and improving the efficiency of inspection and repair work. In terms of improved braking performance, we have achieved the ability to safely decrease the braking distance in the event of an earthquake. In the enhancement of the condition monitoring function, we have developed the method of confirming the soundness of the vehicle equipment by continuously monitoring the operation state. These functional improvements will enhance safety and improve the efficiency of inspection and repair work.
