Dynamics models of air springs for railway vehicles often assume small displacements of a few 10 mms, and do not consider the 200 mm expected during an earthquake. Therefore, the authors proposed dynamics models of air springs that could also handle the nonlinear characteristics obtained from static and dynamic excitation tests under large displacement conditions and verified the validity. As a result, it was confirmed that the analysis results using the proposed model could almost reproduce the actual characteristics, and that the analysis accuracy was good.
