Numerical Analysis of Flow Field with Moving Boundaries by the DSMC Method : Simulation of Hi-speed Object Entering a Tunnel

Abstract

Due to the development of computer technology, the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method will be applied even to flows for continuum regime. This paper shows the applicability of the DSMC method to flow field with moving boundaries. The unsteady flow produced by a hi-speed object entering a tunnel is adopted as an example and is investigated.
