Abstract

This research aims to predict the transition of energy system leading to a decarbonized society in 2050 by analyzing the impact of changes in resource prices and demand on Japanese energy systems. Using partial equilibrium energy - economic model, energy process constituting the market economy of Japan was modeled and evaluated about primary energy supply amount, supply price, CO2 emission etc. As a result, energy use efficiency in Japan's energy system in 2050 improved by about 22.5% from 30.9% in 2015 to 53.4%, and the cost required for fossil fuel was reduced by about 85.7%.
