Innovative design is a strong business strategy that creates high added value through value co-creation process among stakeholders with sophisticated integration of products and services. On the other hand, in recent manufacturing industries, the providers often provide products and/or services unilaterally without reaching consensus fully in the early product/service design stage. Hence, their outcome is not always successful due to information asymmetry among stakeholders. To solve this disparity, this presentation proposes an empathy realizing/context modeling method, which identifies factor causing information asymmetry in innovative product/service design.

The importance for constructing sustainable society is becoming larger and larger. Design should consider this aspect as a matter of course. Timeaxis design is one of the most powerful tools for this purpose. For supporting timeaxis design, it would be useful to establish a general methodology for deriving countermeasures against changes according to time and embedding them during design. However, this is an unsolved research issue so far. Instead, it might be useful to list up all changes according time that may occur during a life cycle of a design object at the first stage of timeaxis design.

Simulation technology consists of three pillars: computational mechanics as a science, industrial technologies as applications, and computer hardware and software, which tie-up between science and its applications. The authors believe that computer mechanics, which only provides physical insights into the true nature of objects, should be the central pillar of simulation technology. On the other hand, the FEM software benders have made steady progress in technological innovations to make modern FEM packages suitable for powerful design tools, which significantly improve both the standard of engineering designs and the methodology of the design process in many industrial applications.

Naval Aviation Technology Factory is a naval facility that is responsible for research on aircraft. Established in Yokosuka in Showa 14 year old, it has many excellent technicians and technicians, and in the flight accident of the zero battle, I made a precise scale model and clarified the cause. After the war, military-related technicians' conversion of civilians became a social problem, but the railway engineering laboratory accepted many engineers. At that time, Nippon Steel had been suffering from a derailment accident caused by the serpentine behavior of the train, but this cause was investigated by combining this serpentine action and the flutter accident of the zero battle, and it became one of the main element technologies of the Shinkansen. Following the history of the naval aviation technology factory being established in the Navy's technical development organization, introduce the outline including its light and dark and the technologies leading to it.

Recently, the energy which demand expanded most is LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). The transport vessel carrying the LNG has many kinds. As for the LNG carriers, economy, versatility, environmentally friendly are required. In addition, it is required to consider sloshing peculiar to marine transportation. Therefore, many makers constructed a variety of LNG carriers such as MOSS, Membrane and SPB. These tanks of the vessel are made according to the IGC code (International code for the Construction and Equipment of Ship Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk) which IMO (International Marine Organization) established, but there is big characteristic in each. This paper introduces the characteristic of various tanks with the diversity of LNG carriers.

In 1968, first container ship "Hakone-maru" 752TEU, N.Y.K. Co.,Ltd. operated in Japan. It was just an opening of the container transportation in Japan 50 years ago. The liner boat was the ship which carried general cargo navigated regularly between constant ports. New York regular line was famous, with around 10,000 gross tonner, the Pacific has been and return at high speed more than 18kt. The writer had an experience on liner "Koso-maru" of JAPAN LINE Co.,Ltd. as an 3rd/engineer in 1967, and engaged in the New York route. It is the boarding experience of the cargo boat period to the pass which is precious, just now. The past days all dry cargo was each wrapped, and then enter the wooden box, loaded onto the hold. Of course there must be never the collapse of cargo accident by the unrest to get during the ocean voyage, it was necessary to fixed each in the dunnage-works. A traditional uneconomical physical-distribution system is swept away, and special vessel was developed. A traffic pattern was reformed with a box of a unified container with terminal and Gantry crane. The history of the container ship it was increased the number of the container could load at one time to planning economic promotion of efficiency. It is the history of so-called upsizing. The writer has experienced the actual spot as owner's inspector for the building of the large-scale container ship (20kTEU) from 2017. This paper considers the summary of the (1) world maximum-scale mega container ship and the characteristic and strength / the weak point in the (2) structure; with past major accident example.

The Kurushima Channel, located almost in the middle of the Seto Inland Sea, is the main route for maritime traffic since the middle of the 20th century. From that time on the Kurushima Cannel, the passage used by a large ship to navigate is the middle passage and the West passage. Because the Kurushima Channel has fast tidal stream, the special rules called "Jyunnchu-Gyakusei" are applied to the way of passing. In this paper, the author describe the change of a unique and special way of passing through Kurushima Channel.

An IP seminar at an educational or research institute should teach the importance of acquiring basic competency in IP (so-called `IP literacy`) to its students and researchers. The seminar should provide guidance for autonomous learning in IP literacy. These needs are best met by focusing on the elements of patent searching. The art of patent search is a fundamental tool in IP practice. Moreover, interacting with real patent documents via the search process is conducive to understanding the patent system. Fortunately patent databases are available online for free to everyone. Thus, a goal of the IP seminar is for the participant to be able to use patent databases and improve their IP literacy via autonomous learning. If you, the IP seminar organizer respectively encourages the lecturer to include aspects of patent searching, such should improve the effectiveness of IP education via the IP seminar.

The intellectual contribution has been an important position in the Japanese economic strategy. The significance of intellectual property has been reaffirmed and the education based on intellectual property has been reinforced in each grade. However, the passive education in which students learn the concept and mechanism of intellectual property is the mainstream curriculum and each organization has its curriculum independently. The active education with the cooperation of several organizations is necessary to form a solid foundation of creative human resources. In this study self-motivating education using intellectual property right (patent contest) has been developed and it was demonstrated that the education in which students create their own inventions complied with both company needs and student's interests.

Global warming is a problem of radiative heat transfer with huge scale. Therefore, knowledge of the heat transfer is necessary for students to understand the mechanism and discuss change of global temperature in future. However, opportunity to obtain it is not sufficient in institutions of higher education. In this study, the apparatus to demonstrate essence of the phenomenon was designed as the educational tool. Especially, structure of light supplying unit and shape of space including greenhouse gas was determined so that radiant energy balance on surface of the earth was simulated properly.

The bamboo forest area is expanding nationwide, so even here on remote islands like Yugeshima island neglected bamboo forest is a problem. In order to make effective use of bamboo, it is desirable to use cascade such as primary use such as building materials and bamboo pellets, secondary use such as bamboo charcoal, tertiary use as material of reefs. In addition to exploring such usage, we focused on utilizing bamboo as bamboo charcoal in this research and produced a higher weight type thermogravimetric analyzer for evaluating the carbonization process of biomass. We also measured the thermal decomposition characteristics of carbonized bamboo in this process, conducted carbonization experiment, and evaluated bamboo charcoal.
