GIGAスクール溝想を夢物語で終わらせないためにできること

One terminal per student and a high-speed, high-capacity communication network were established in 2018 under the GIGA school concept set forth by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Moreover, the situation in schools is now required to change at a dizzying pace, as the new coronavirus outbreak has pushed forward the target year from 2023. However, some schools and municipalities are having a tough time making the GIGA school concept a reality. In this issue, we would like to clarify the actual situation, consider the key points for success from the viewpoints of children, teachers, and administrators, and consider measures to promote the spread of the program.
