Education on integration of mechanical engineering and AI - Analysis of machine performance, AI performance, and overall performance

Abstract

The advancement and spread of AI require mechanical engineers to master AI technology. Autonomous driving races using model cars were held as a place to learn about the integration of mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence. Autonomous vehicles can run at high speeds only when mechanical, control, and AI performance are all combined. In this study, we measured and modeled the individual performance of the machine, control, and AI to determine the impact of changes in individual performance on overall driving performance. This method is expected to contribute not only to the understanding of machines, controls, and AI, but also to the development of high-performance vehicles.
