Abstract

Today's school education requires learner-centered classes based on the promotion of active learning. On the other hand, many students enrolled in university teaching courses cannot escape one-sided guidance and indoctrination. This article focuses on the ease, theatricality, and interactivity of panel theater, which has traditionally been used in settings such as early childhood education, childcare, and special needs education. During the teacher training course, the author conducted a workshop to develop panel theater teaching materials for subject instruction. We will introduce panel theater teaching materials created by engineering students aiming to become teachers of mathematics, science, technology, industry, information, nutrition, etc., and talk about the characteristics of the teaching materials and future challenges. Many of the works included visual learning tasks to make them easier to understand, and compared to panel theater works aimed at early childhood education and lower grades, the content was often manipulated by the learners themselves. In the future, it is expected that he will utilize his experience in developing panel theater teaching materials to create teaching materials that utilize ICT and to teach classes that emphasize dialogue.
