Abstract

Many museums offer guided tours and demonstrations for children. However, the contents are related to "physics" and "chemistry". Also, workshops are held as a place to learn "manufacturing", but it is rare to reach "engineering" from there, and I think it is an issue. The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is a place to exhibit "engineering." Taking advantage of this feature, we tried a "Children's Guided Tour" to draw interest in "Engineering" among the younger generation. As a result, the following issues were particularly highlighted. First, there is a large variation in basic knowledge, and it is difficult to match the level of explanations. And there is a big difference in the willingness of the participants. In the future, we will continue to make improvements based on the trial results and practice methods that will be accepted by even younger generation.
