Abstract

Since 2020, STEAM education has been spreading in Japan. Taiwan has been working on STEAM education for more than 10 years and earlier than Japan. After the covid-19, I visited two Taiwanese junior high schools for the first time in three and a half years. I also saw junior high schools in rural areas in central Taiwan (Douliu, Lunbei in Yunlin), which are not in urban areas, enthusiastically working on STEAM education. Both schools were equipped with digital fabrication equipment such as 3D printers and laser processing machines. Local university professors were also seen providing technical support. This visit survey provided many suggestions for the promotion of STEAM education in Japan.
