Abstract
Rehabilitation of finger movement caused from skin burn or operation of a tendon is crucial in order to avoid the contracture, but is laborious and takes long term. Therefore, development of the active orthosis for rehabilitation of finger movement will reduce their problems remarkably. SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) was used as an actuator for making active orthosis of rehabilitation of finger movement. Fundarmental properties of SMA were measured and then the actuator by using SMA was constructed based on its properties. Performance of the deveoped SMA actuator was investigated through the experiment.
