In the case of non-cold-worked type 304 stainless steel, stress corrosion crack growth rate of miniature round compact tension specimen was much higher than one of I-inch compact tension specimen and specimen size effect was observed. From the results of elastic-plastic fracture mechanics analysis, it was indicated that SCC growth rate tends to increase with increasing normalized equivalent plastic strain at the crack front, regardless of specimen shape or size and cold-work conditions.
