Abstract
Fine-needle aspiration specimens from 102 breast lesions, including 10 ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), 78 invasive ductal carsinoma, 7 intraductal papilloma (IDP), 6 fibroadenoma and one mastopathy, were examined for numerical aberrations on chromosomes 1, 11, 17 by using FISH technique. Numerical aberrations on these chromosomes were detected most frequently in DCIS while only one out of 7 IDP cases showed abnormality. FISH analysis seems to be useful for diagnosis of intraductal breast lesions.
