Abstract

Zonisamide was developed as an antiepileptic drug, and its usefulness in Parkinson's disease was reported from Japan1). Its mechanism of action has been suggested to include monoamine oxidase B inhibition and enhancement of levodopa effect, but a clear mechanism of action has not been elucidated. To evaluate the effect of Zonisamide, on motor symptoms over time and quantitatively, we conducted a retrospective analysis using outpatients at our hospital.
