The treatment of headaches varies depending on their classification and causes, with pharmacotherapy often being the primary treatment. However, in some cases, medication alone may be insufficient, and non–pharmacological treatments offer a promising alternative. At our hospital, we have begun offering acupuncture, a non–pharmacological therapy, alongside headache diagnosis. We believe that increasing recognition of acupuncture as a treatment within medical settings will contribute to the establishment and spread of acupuncture for headaches, thus diversifying treatment options. If non–pharmacological treatments, including acupuncture, are proven to be effective, they could expand future treatment strategies and significantly improve patients' quality of life.
