Abstract
This study was designed to explore the impact of parents’ newspaper subscription habit, and children’s motivation for reading newspapers on the amount of newspaper reading. Also, this study examined the impact of the amount of newspaper reading on academic performance. T-tests and multiple regression were used to test five hypotheses. The study found that both parents’ newspaper subscription habit and children’s motivation for reading newspapers influenced the amount of newspaper reading. Also, the amount of newspaper reading had influence on children’s academic performance.
