Abstract
Major online bookstores publish a ranking of book sales every hour, and site visitors use the
ranking as a reference for purchasing books. Therefore, authors and publishers are closely following the
evolution of sales rankings. On the other hand, it is also possible to grasp the characteristics of the sales
of the book and the characteristics of merchandising from the transition of the sales ranking. Therefore,
focusing on logistics-related books, this study will clarify and analyze the mathematical model of sales
ranking with classification, based on the transition data of sales ranking. The paper will also analyze the
correlation of products with different specialties in logistics-related books from the perspective of sales
ranking in order to explain the merchandising characteristics of these books. This research targeting
more fields and authors is considered to be an issue for the future.
