A Proposal of Model and System for Local Production and Local Consumption of Agricultural Products

A Case in Kashiwa City

Abstract

In this study, we focus on the business potential of local production for local consumption of agricultural products, conduct a survey and analysis of the conditions for local farmers and restaurants to work with business potential and propose a distribution model for local production for local consumption. The survey results found that it is vital to differentiate agricultural products, which are not available in general markets, in terms of scarcity, price, and quality in menus that are effortlessly appealing to consumers, such as daily menus in restaurants. Through mock transactions through the proposed distribution model, it was shown that face-to-face transactions at intermediate points after completing settlement in advance are important for efficiency and securing trust. In addition, we analyzed the requirements and proposed a web-based EC system for local production for local consumption, targeting small-quantity, multi-product farmers, and individually owned restaurants.
