Abstract
We conducted an investigation for 4 years from January 2008 to December 2011 to evaluate the oral psychosomatic patients who visited the Osaka Dental University Hospital.
The number of patients diagnosed during the 4-year period was 245. We examined the gender, age, address, date of consultation, clinical department, diagnosis, and dosage of the patients.
As a result, we found the following.
1. The male-female ratio was 1 : 3.4.
2. It took 2.5 months on average before the diagnosis.
3. The number of new patients tended to be small in May and large in December.
4. There were regional differences in the distribution of patients. The population density was also higher in two areas where there were many patients.
