Abstract
Comparative studies were conducted on 2 circulatory stability parameters during surgery, postoperative partial pressure of blood gas and the induction and arousal speeds, in cases undergoing oral surgery. Modified NLA methods were applied to 2 groups, Butorphanol (0.04 mg/kg) with Flunitrazepam (0.015mg/kg) or Pentazocine (1.0 mg/kg) with Fluni-trazepam (0.015 mg/kg) . No case in the Butorphanol group required volatile anesthetic agents, whereas additional administration was necessary in 3 cases in the Pentazocine group. No significant differences were observed between the 2 groups with respect to induction and arousal speeds. The postoperative Pao2 level was significantly lower in both groups, although there were no significant difference in terms of the degree. Thus, it is concluded that the modified NLA method with Butorphanol and Flunitrazepam showed high circulatory stability during surgery, and that it is more useful than the modified NLA method with Pentazocine and Flunitrazepam.
