We experienced two cases of soft tissue damage caused by a 30-cm long ballpoint pen with a mascot attached. In case 1, two large lacerations were found in the soft palate, and 21 sutures were placed under general anesthesia. In case 2, a slight laceration was found in the upper labial frenum, and the patient was followed up. Even with daily necessities such as ballpoint pens that are not normally used in the oral cavity, infants play with them in their mouths, so it is necessary to alert parents to the danger of infants playing with things in the oral cavity.
