A formulation is described to obtain a class of MHD plasma equilibraia in linear filamentary multipole magnetic fields.Variations of magnetic lines of force due to the presence of plasma are calculated by perturbation technique up to the linear terms in plasma pressure. The distributions of plasma pressure are assumed to have a peak on the separatrix of the vacuum magnetic field.
