Numerical analysis of electron heating and current drive by applying lower hybrid wave is investigated by using a one dimensional tokamak transport code including RF associated term. Remarkable electron heating is obtained by adjusting parallel refractive index n to the local electron temperature. It is found that the deposition profile moves outward during RF power input because of the increase in the local electron temperature.
The problem of current drive is also studied for a wide range of parameters and the results are compared with the analysis by Karney and Fisch with uniform plasma model.
