Abstract
A brief review is given of spectroscopic measurements by using laser-induced fluorescence technique in various plasmas. Observations of metal impurity behaviors in the edge-region of magnetically confined plasmas, and new methods for measuring local electron density, fluctuating electric fields in plasmas, and the Doppler profile of impurity atoms by a single laser shot are described.
