Abstract
Intense pulsed ion beams are extracted from magnetically insulated diodes, whose anodes are cooled with liquid nitrogen or helium. The lowest temperature of the anodes is about 5 K, and H2 ices are produced on the anode surfaces. H+ beams of high purity are extracted with good reproducibility. Another kinds of beams (Ar+, N+, D+) are produced also with the corresponding ices. Performances of the diodes and the beam characteristics are described briefly in this report.
