Abstract
Computational studies of plasma physics and fusion theory require advanced techniques of simulation and numerical methods. These techniques are in progress in many fields of computational physics. As examples, the following topics are described;
(1) multigrid (MG) techniques of high speed running which enhance the convergence rate of iterative numerical method for solving the discretized equations of Poisson type.
(2) stable upwind finite-difference and control-volume schemes with the third order accuracy for solving the convection-diffusion equations.
