Abstract
The growth rates for a thermal thermonuclear instability of a homogeneous deuterium plasma in a strong magnetic field in a catalyzed DD fusion reactor are obtained analytically. The perturbation of the plasma temperature grows if the thickness of a plane plasma be greater than 8.9×105 (λ/10) 1/2/B cm, and the radius of a cylindrical plasma greater than 6.8×105 (λ/10) 1/2/B cm, where λ. is the Coulomb logarithm and B (gauss) the strength of the magnetic field.
