Abstract

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‑cell therapy has emerged as a promising approach for treating refractory malignancies. We focused on developing a combinatorial cellular immunotherapy strategy that integrates CAR T-cells with molecular‑targeted agents, aiming to overcome the characteristics of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment of solid tumors and mitigate CAR T-cell exhaustion. In this review, we outline the current status and challenges of CAR T-cell therapy for solid tumors and introduce our ongoing efforts to establish combination approaches using CAR T-cells and molecular‑targeted therapeutics.
