We are currently commercializing an LD end-pumped passive Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip laser using Cr:YAG as a
supersaturated absorber for industrial applications such as laser processing. Microchip lasers are small, lightweight, and robust,
and because the oscillator can be miniaturized, they can be attached to robot arms and perform laser processing. However, when
transmitting the excitation laser through a fiber, changes in the curvature of the fiber occur. This changes the mode of the pump
laser, making oscillation unstable. Therefore, by installing a pumping LD inside the oscillator and omitting fiber transmission,
stable oscillation is possible without mode change of the pumping laser.
